As much as I love, love, love my late night snuggles with my son...when it is just Wyeth and I, and the night is quiet...the child needs to go to bed earlier!
Last night he fell asleep at 10 and then was up again at 10:45, wrestling around until 11. Asleep. Awake. Until midnight.
I got up at 6 to feed him and start my day.
Midnight is TOO LATE for this weary momma.
Tonight I will start operation "bath, book, nurse, bed". We shall see how it goes. I think I'll start around 9pm and see what happens.
Seren is in bed by 8:15 and then Wyeth and I hang out on the couch, nursing and talking until he goes to bed. I never know if he is asleep-asleep or "resting". Will this sleep be 2 hours or 2 minutes??!! It drives me crazy!
So unpredictable! So tonight, after I bathe Seren, Wyeth will get a tub and we'll see what happens.
He just doesn't sleep during the day for longer than an hour (gone are the two hour naps) and while he does sleep at night, he doesn't sleep that long. Is he overstimulated or something?!
Anyone have any ideas? I can't remember what "sleeping at 3 months" looks and feels like. We go to the doctor tomorrow so I'll have new stats. :)

I have no idea! Nate was still waking every 3 hours to eat then! We did start a routine of putting them down in their cribs by 3 months, where we would feed, bathe, book, feed again (to top off) and then bed. And they were in bed by 8.
Oh man--I feel your pain! I remember when Seth was that age, we had some really good nights and some really not-so-good nights. We're still experiencing that, though. I did start that bath-bottle-bed routine pretty early with Seth, and by the time I went back to work, he was going down for the night by 8:00. But just like William, every night is different. There have been stretches when he only wakes once--sometimes as "late" as 4:00 or 4:30 a.m., and then he'll go weeks waking several times a night, at any manner of odd hours. I do think his wakings have a lot to do with his physical comfort, though. He has a dairy intolerance and I think he gets crampy and gassy if he's had too much dairy. And he also wakes a lot when he has ear infections or is teething. None of this helps you, though, I'm sorry to say. Just hang in there. This is one time when it's good that time flies! Hugs!
Oh shoot--I'm signed in as Ed. It's me, Beth. Sorry about that!
At a little before 9 pm, I would nurse Noah, and then Nano would take him, swaddle him tightly, and put him in side position resting on (pillows in) his lap. He would sit there for about half an hour (watching his ipod) in the dark, and every time Noah stirred, he would bounce his knee just a little bit. Starting at about 8 weeks, and up until 12 weeks, he was sleeping from around 9-2 am. Unfortunately, things started to fall apart at 12 weeks and his long stretches disappeared... Maybe try the quiet, dark environment with no stimulation starting right after Seren goes down. The bath is supposed to calm, but it can actually stimulate some babies. Good luck!
